The first two episodes of Agent Carter‘s second season kicked off last night with a bang, and this awesome new season-long trailer is giving us lots of clues as to what’s next! Check out our trailer speculation below:
Returning Characters
During the overview trailer for season 2 of Agent Carter, the titular character is overheard telling someone to “dig deep.” This does make one wonder what might be popping up this season! It is good to see that season 1’s plot points and characters are not forgotten; Ray Wise, AKA Hugh Jones, President of Roxxon Oil, will be making a number of appearances this season–though still thinks it is best to call Peggy ‘darling.’ Apparently someone didn’t remember her name is Agent. Another character who cannot be counted out, of course, is ‘Dorothy Underwood’–real name still currently unknown–appearing plain and pale, making her unrecognizable to either her first season look or her new second season look.
Stronger Team
Due to the events of the first two episodes of this season, “Lady in the Lake” and “A View in the Dark,” one begins to get the sense that there has been some jelling taking place between the characters into a more cohesive team. This team consists of Chief Daniel Sousa, Edwin Jarvis, Agent Peggy Carter, Rose Roberts (how wonderful it is to see her, too!), and some random agent (sorry random agent, but we will find out your name and invite you out to drinks later. Promise!) A wild Howard Stark seems to appear too (since now Dominic Cooper is pulling double duty as Jesse Custer over in AMC’s Preacher with Agent of SHIELD’s Ruth Negga) and loads of gadgets and disguises and more undercover work is promised (Between the umbrella, the black-framed glasses, and the boxing and the judo training, I do think Mr. Jarvis is on his way to acting the part of a member of the Kingsman, wouldn’t you agree?)
New Enemies
On top of all of this, Peggy is dealing with a few new thorns in her side. Between actress and inventor Whitney Frost, the elite council of men that Frost’s husband Calvin Chadwick sits on, and on the opposite coast, Vernon Masters–who, uh oh, it appears he is going to be attending a Chadwick fundraiser himself with Chief Thompson–it looks like Agent Carter and company will have their hands full this season. This minute-long teaser into the next eight episodes of Agent Carter sure leaves us with a great deal to think about.
