The news that many of us have been waiting for, has finally arrived – Marvel announced today that Jessica Jones has been renewed for a second season! Here is the full press release from Marvel Entertainment:
“Jessica Jones faced her share of troubles in her first season, but she better rest up because now she’s got another one on the horizon!
That’s right, “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” will return to Netflix for a second hard-hitting series, as announced by NETFLIX’s Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos, today at a Television Critics Association event.
The critically-acclaimed first season of “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” earned star Krysten Ritter a Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Drama Series. The series followed the equally-acclaimed debut of “Marvel’s Daredevil,” the first original series in Marvel’s overall deal with Netflix.
“Marvel is thrilled to be working with NETFLIX for a second season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones,” said Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Television, Jeph Loeb. “The positive response to Jessica’s story from fans all over the world has been overwhelming and we look forward to diving even deeper into these characters and this world.”

While it didn’t reveal WHEN we will be getting that second season of the show, it’s most likely going to have to be AFTER the first season of The Defenders, but we will keep you updated with the latest news as they come out.
