First Look: Marvel’s C-3PO One-Shot Comic Explores His Red Arm

Last year, when images began to trickle out from the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the fandom spun out in a flurry of impatient and excited inquiries — one, specifically, focused on the new arm that protocol droid and constant worrier C-3PO seemed to acquire.

When the suit was rolled out at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, I was able to catch it up-close, noticing the rust and wear that the arm had already suffered. Whatever had happened, it seemed as though the Resistance had run a rush job on Threepio’s repair, and that Anakin Skywalker’s creation had much more to fret over than what his arm looked like.

Now, months after the film’s release, Marvel is poised to answer that question in the C-3PO one-shot issue. In the preview pages below, we follow the precocious protocol droid on an adventure that — so much like the others — he’d rather not have.

What’s more, it seems as though a certain TFA character (or at least, a similar model) is going to accompany our erstwhile metallic hero: Leia’s new blue assistant, PZ-4CO, affectionately known as Peazy. While her name can be heard in TFA, and she can be seen working in the background of the Resistance base, the most time we’ve spent with Peazy has been in the Moving Target junior novel by Cecil Castelucci. With her personality from that book in mind, Peazy and Threepio might make quite the entertaining pair.

Marvel released the pages today, with this description:
