Captain America Civil War

Marvel’s Civil War Early Screenings Raise Expectations

According to an article today on Birth Movies Death, Marvel has already begun to screen Captain America:  Civil War to a few, select audiences.  The reaction – incredibly positive:

Early word is that despite there being so many super hero characters in the movie, Civil War is focused primarily on Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes.  It’s most definitely Captain America 3 and not Avengers 3.

Black Panther is amazing and a great addition to the MCU (good news with his solo movie just three years away).

More good news is that no time is wasted rehashing Spider-Man’s origin story (particularly great news for old Uncle Ben who can apparently rest in peace).  I love that they’ve kept Spidey completely under wraps so far.  I’d love it if we don’t see him at all before the movie is released.

The events in Sokovia, which appear to be the driving force behind the rift between our beloved heroes, weigh heavily on everyone. One person is quoted as saying that the latter parts of the film are an “emotional horror movie” because you truly feel the depths of the rift between Tony and Steve – and that both characters have solid reasoning for feeling the way that they do.

Lastly, it was reported that the last 30 minutes of the film are brutal – both physically and emotionally.  That sounds amazing and terrible at the same time.  What does this all mean?  I can’t wait another two months to find out!!

While we all are left to sit around and ponder how this will all play out, Marvel did also release some behind the scenes photos this week.  So let’s just enjoy those while we wait.

Captain America:  Civil War will be in theaters May 6, 2016.
