Marvel Launches Science Program for Young Women

Marvel Studios announced earlier this week that they would be upping their girl power game with more merchandising for characters like Black Widow, but it turns out that’s not the only way their bringing it for the ladies this month!

Just this morning, Marvel Studios announced that they would be partnering with the National Academy of Sciences’ Science and Entertainment Exchange to launch a program for young women. The program will be called “Girls Reforming the Future Challenge”. The goals will align with the very mission that the Avengers—

“The commitment to safeguard humanity, protect the earth at all costs and make the world a better place for future generations,” Elizabeth Olson (Scarlet Witch)

So, just to make that perfectly clear, not only has Marvel partnered with a great organization to create an awesome program for future women in STEM, it’s also given them to opportunity to feel like freakin’ Avengers!  It also sounds like Elizabeth Olson and Emily Van Camp (Agent 13) may be involved with the project as well!

These little scientists (and little AVENGERS!) will be submitting projects that they feel can change the world, USA Today reports. Once they’re submitted, five finalists will be picked to head out to California to present their projects, hang out on the red carpet for the Civil War premier, a tour of Disney’s studios and a savings account for their future experiments!
