Daredevil Season 2

Daredevil Season 2 Video Review

Daredevil Season 2 was easily one of the most anticipated television events of 2016, and just a couple weeks ago, Marvel fans were finally able to experience it after all 13 episodes of the new season debuted on Netflix. The second season of Marvel’s Daredevil introduced fans to several new characters, including Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) and Elektra Natchios (Elodie Yung), and provided Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock with even more problems as he continued to do his best to protect Hell’s Kitchen. It’s clear that Daredevil Season 2 was bigger and grander than the show’s first season, but was it as good?

It’s that question, along with many more topics, that fellow Marvel Report contributor Blaise Hopkins and I discuss in our Season 2 video review. During our lengthy discussion of the new season (which is full of spoilers, in case you wanted to steer clear of those), Blaise and I talk about the different conflicts introduced during Season 2, all of the characters’ arcs and how satisfying (or unsatisfying) they were, and where Daredevil goes from here, either in a potential third season or in the long-planned Defenders series that will eventually be hitting Netflix.

Daredevil Season 2 stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Jon Bernthal, and Elodie Yung. All 13 episodes are currently available on Netflix.

Just when Matt thinks he is bringing order back to the city, new forces are rising in Hell’s Kitchen. Now the Man Without Fear must take on a new adversary in Frank Castle and face an old flame – Elektra Natchios.

Bigger problems emerge when Frank Castle, a man looking for vengeance, is reborn as The Punisher, a man who takes justice into his own hands in Matt’s neighborhood. Meanwhile, Matt must balance his duty to his community as a lawyer and his dangerous life as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, facing a life-altering choice that forces him to truly understand what it means to be a hero.
