Marvel’s Inhumans Possibly Postponed

Marvel first announced the release dates of their Phase 3 films back in the fall of 2014. Marvel’s Inhumans was then slated to premier in between Avengers: Infinity War’s two parts, as well as Marvel’s Captain Marvel, however the studio has done a lot of shifting and rearranging since then, and it seems that Marvel’s Inhumans might possibly be postponed to a later date.

Since 2014, a lot has changed: Marvel and Sony struck a deal to co-produce a Spider-Man solo film premiering in 2017. Captain Marvel’s released date was moved around a bit. The major success of Ant-Man also resulted in the studio squeezing in Ant-Man and the Wasp into the Phase 3 lineup.

Agents of SHIELD
Daisy “Quake” Johnson is a leading SHIELD agent and the MCU’s most prominent Inhuman.

As Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. dives deeper into Inhuman lore, mythology, and history, rumors began to swirl about whether or not the studio decided to scrap the idea of a feature film all together. Collider spoke with Kevin Feige – head of Marvel Studios – recently, and he said that Marvel’s Inhumans is still going to happen.

In the interview, Feige said,

Since we made our initial phase three announcement, we added Spider-Man, which was a big joyous coup for us. We added Ant-Man and the Wasp, which was a big fun continuation of that story for us. Walt Disney Company has announced an Indiana Jones film for right around that same time. So I think it will shuffle off the current date that it’s on right now. How far down it shuffles, I’m not sure yet.

But it’s not a matter of “they’re already doing that on TV, we’re not doing it?”

No, It’s a question of when.
