Actress Sigourney Weaver will be playing the villain in The Defenders!
This exciting news comes straight from the Marvel Netflix panel at New York Comic-Con. There, a montage of all the Marvel Netflix shows was shown along with special announcements from various stars from each series. Towards the end of the panel Jeph Loeb, Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television was on hand to reveal one last surprise for the attendees at the panel. It was then that he announced that actress Signourney Weaver will be playing the big bad in the highly anticipated series The Defenders. Here’s what Loeb had to say about the big reveal:
Marvel is honored to have an actress of her caliber and status join what is already our biggest show ever! She is by definition a class act.
Following the reveal, The Defenders themselves (Daredevil’s Charlie Cox, Luke Cage’s Mike Colter, Jessica Jones’ Krysten Ritter, and Iron Fist star Finn Jones) walked on stage and stood alongside Weaver.
