Disney’s official fan page D23 recently posted about what they are looking forward to in 2017. Within that post was the line, “Thor: Ragnarok in November brings together Thor, the Hulk, and Doctor Strange to face off against intergalactic baddies both familiar and new.” This seems to confirm what most people have suspected since the after credit scene in Doctor Strange, he will at least make an appearance in Thor: Ragnarok.
The question is how big a role will Doctor Strange play in the coming Thor movie. The after credit scene set up that Doctor Strange wanted to find Loki, but would that really be a focus of the movie? Probably not, I feel the after credit scene was just telling us Doctor Strange would be in the movie, but not a good indication of what role he would be playing.
Thor: Ragnarok will star Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Cate Blanchett, Anthony Hopkins, and Jaimie Alexander. There is not much known about the plot yet other than Thor, Hulk, and now Doctor Strange will be fighting intergalactic enemies. They will have some new foes, like Cate Blanchett’s Hela, along with some they have fought before. Thor: Ragnarok will hit theaters November 3, 2017.
