Brie Larson Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel Will Be the Bridge Between Earth and Space in the MCU

In a recent interview with IGN, Brie Larson explained how Captain Marvel will be the bridge between Earth and space in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Many might have speculated this, especially for those who are familiar with the comics and particularly Captain Marvel.

Brie Larson told IGN:

“Just the fact that she can be a bridge between two worlds, that she can go to Earth and go to Space and that her own personal place is in the littlest place in between where Earth ends and space begins is hers is so moving to me. I’ve been so inspired going through all the comics and reading them right now, it’s what I’ve been doing on the side and I’m just amazed.”

Brie also commented on what fans are expecting what look of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel will have in the MCU. Here’s what she had to say:

“I feel like this is a big conversation and every day I have people yelling at me on Twitter saying ‘You better have long hair, you better have the mohawk, you better wear the helmet, or you better not wear the helmet. I’m like ‘Somebody’s going to be mad.”

One of the reasons this quote is important is because so far, the MCU has existed on Earth and Space separately. Every movie and television show in the MCU has taken place on Earth except Guardians of the Galaxy. This “space gap” has literally separated all of Marvel’s Guardians from iconic characters like Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, and Black Widow. Her introduction to the MCU comes at the best time, as Carol Danvers can act as that bridge between space and characters both figuratively and concretely. Perhaps Carol even will be the catalyst for the upcoming Guardians/Avengers team-up in Avengers: Infinity War.

Either way, we’re excited to see Brie Larson as Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Do you have a favorite look you’re hoping to see Brie rock from the comics? Let us know in the comments!
