Big Hero 6 Renewed For Pre-Emptive Season 2 By Disney XD

Are you satisfied with your television show?

Disney apparently is. According to IGN, the show about a group of teenage heroes in San Fransokoyo has been renewed for a second season before it’s fall premiere.  The show continues the film’s story and features the creative team of Bob Schooley, Mark McCorkle, and Nick Flippi – famous for their work with the popular show Kim Possible.  The series itself follows the films and features the return of the film’s cast.  This includes Ryan Potter as Hiro, Scott Adsit as Baymax, and Stan Lee himself as Fred’s father!

Disney head of programming Mark Buhaj said they were “honored” to offer the show a second season renewal before seeing the season’s numbers.

“Mark, Bob and Nick have delivered a dynamic adventure series that follows the Big Hero 6 superhero team, led by audience favorites Hiro and Baymax. We are honored to have the opportunity to further expand the elaborate world and engaging characters of ‘Big Hero 6 The Series’ with this early second season order,”

Fans will remember Big Hero 6 as a story about loveable robot Baymax and his creators – the brothers team of Tadashi and Hiro.  After Tadashi’s tragic death at the hands of a former professor of his, Hiro and his friends are thrust into a conspiracy where Hiro learns the meaning of friendship, the horrors of grief and growing up, and the value of family.  The film was a huge hit with critics and audiences in 2014.  It set records for the year as highest grossing animated film and took home the academy award for best animated feature.

Are you as excited as we are to see the return of Hiro, Honey Lemon, Wasabi, Go-Go, Fred and of course Baymax himself? Are you planning on watching the show? Tell us your thoughts and feelings in the comments below and don’t forget to tune into The Marvel Report for more Big Hero 6 announcements.
