Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger is one of the properties we’re most excited for here at The Marvel Report. Marvel and Freeform have cast Cloak and Dagger, fleshed out the cast and started filming. Thanks to Heroic Hollywood we now know that there’s a full season planned for freeform and Marvel is very excited about this Romeo and Juliet-style love story. At a recent Disney Distribution presentation, Senior vice President Mark Endemano shared a more in-depth info on Tandy and Tyrone’s story.
“Cloak & Dagger is about character and emotion above all. It tells of a romance between Tandy and Tyrone in a way that we haven’t really seen before in a Marvel TV series. So think Romeo and Juliet though I can tell you that they won’t be dying at the end of the first episode!”
Indeed this adaptation of the popular comic book characters is drawing a lot of interest:
“Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger” is an adaptation of the beloved Marvel characters whose story is aimed squarely at young adults. This live-action interracial romance follows Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love.
Regarding Ty and Tandy’s powers, President Mark Endemano said:
Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart — but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.”

Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger stars Aubrey Joseph as Ty/Cloak and Olivia Holt as Tandy and Dagger. The series is set to premiere in 2018 under the guidance of Joe Pokaski of WGN’s Underground.
