Michelle Williams Confirms Her Role In Venom

A few months ago, it was revealed that the Academy Award-nominated actress Michelle Williams was getting in on the comic book action with Sony’s upcoming Venom film. While many of the roles that are attached to this film have been kept under wrap for quite some time, we now definitely know who Williams is playing.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Williams confirmed that she is indeed playing Anne Weying who in the comics is the ex-wife of Eddie Brock. But that’s not all as Anne is also known as the first She-Venom! While we don’t know if She-Venom will make an appearance, Williams did talk heavily about working with Tom Hardy who will star as the iconic Marvel baddie.

“We’re having fun. Um, we’re having fun. It’s, um, well for me it’s Tom (Hardy). I just thought, well, that guy knows what he’s doing. I’m just going to go steal some of his moves, figure out what he knows. I just wanted to, you know, you’re only as good as the people you play with and I really wanted to challenge myself with him as a partner.”

That Hashtag Show first broke the news that Anne would be joining the cast of characters in Venom. With production underway, we’ll hopefully have our first look at the movie sometime early 2018.

Ruben Fleischer’s Venom, starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate, and Reid Scott, is set to hit theaters on October 5, 2018. Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner wrote the screenplay for Venom, with Amy Pascal, Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad producing.
