Freeform is officially bringing Cloak & Dagger to the small screen on Thursday, June 7 with a 2-hour premiere starting at 8 PM! In addition to this announcement, new footage was revealed which you can see below.
It was revealed a while back that Freeform was set to air Cloak & Dagger on Thursday nights. It remains to be seen whether or not the show will be airing regularly at 8 or 9 PM. The first season consists of 10 episodes and will mark as the cable network’s first comic book series.
“Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger” is an adaptation of the beloved Marvel characters whose story is aimed squarely at young adults. This live-action interracial romance follows Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart — but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.”
Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, stars Aubrey Joseph as Ty Johnson/Cloak and Olivia Holt as Tandy Bowen/Dagger. Joe Pokaski (Heroes) is the showrunner and executive producer. Gina Prince-Bythewood, who is set to helm Sony’s Marvel project Silver and Black, helmed the pilot.
