Get ready for the return of David Haller! The son of Charles Xavier will be returning for the second season of his critically acclaimed show. The first season of Legion, focused on Haller accepting his powers and abilities all while joining a collection of mutants to escape from the villainous “Shadow King.” The season ended with Haller escaping the Shadow King’s clutches (for now) but falling prey to potential new threats to himself and the other mutants at clockworks.

FX launched a teaser today with the new Legion premiere date of April 3rd. The promo asks “Where are you David?” while focusing on star Dan Stevens. Featuring that same trippy artwork that fans of the series have come to know and love, X-Men and Legion fans alike thankfully won’t have long to wait for the return of everyone’s favorite “mental” mutant. The second season will run for a total of 10 episodes and feature the return of Amahl Farouk, also known as the shadow king played by Navid Negahban. FX also released a synopsis for the season teasing some terrifying things to come:
With David and Oliver missing and Farouk on the loose, the team forms an unlikely alliance with their former enemy Clark and his well-funded government organization, Division III. Meanwhile, Amahl Farouk (Navid Negahban) is on a new path to attaining infinite and world-ending power.
The show’s unique perspectives, it’s focus on mental health, and it’s weird and wonderful take on mutant kind have garnered a massive fanbase who look forward to the return of Haller and his cohorts. While just what will happen in season 2 remains under wraps, it’s a worthy time filler for people who are looking to fill the void left by The Gifted until the second season returns.

It’s executive produced by Simon Kinberg and Jeph Loeb. Noah Hawley serves as showrunner.
