Captain Marvel Adds Annette Bening

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is adding one incredible star to the upcoming Captain Marvel film! The Hollywood Reporter broke the news today that Annette Bening is joining the Carol Danvers centric film in a mystery role.

While no details about her role were given, THR states that Bening might be playing a scientist role. A four-time nominated Oscars actress, Bening has a long list of outstanding work such as The Grifters, Being Julia, American Beauty, and The Kids Are All Right. She will next be seen in The Seagull (May 11) and Life Itself (September 21.)

“Based on the Marvel comic character first appearing in 1968, the story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.  Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

Captain Mar-Vell, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, with Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, and McKenna Grace, open in theaters March 8, 2019.
