Marvel Games Reveals Details for Comic-Con 2018 Panel

With E3 2018 in the books, most of the video game world is looking ahead to Gamescom in Cologne, Germany in August. However, this isn’t entirely true of the gaming sector that’s tied to the world of comics. For them, the next destination is San Diego Comic-Con in July and, on Thursday, Marvel Games outlined its plans for the big show.

The Marvel Games panel will be held on Thursday, July 19 from 1-2PM PT from Comic-Con’s famed Hall H. Kinda Funny Games’ Greg Miller will moderate a panel that’s headlined by Marvel’s Spider-Man, the webhead’s upcoming PlayStation 4 adventure. In addition to that, attendees will get to check out what’s next for Marvel’s lineup of ongoing games, including Marvel’s Contest of Champions, Marvel Battle Lines, Marvel Strike Force, and Marvel Powers United VR.

The next look at Marvel’s Spider-Man should be particularly fascinating, given that the game is set to arrive on September 7. Those who have followed the game are familiar with the E3 trailer that had Spidey swinging around The Raft before facing off with a new version of the Sinister Six, with a mysterious, unrevealed leader. It remains to be seen whether the Comic-Con panel will expand on what was shown at E3 or whether Marvel Games and developer Insomniac Games will reveal an entirely new piece of the game.

There’s also a chance that Marvel Games may have a few surprises up their sleeve. Viewers may want to look out for that mysterious Avengers project from Square Enix and Tomb Raider developers Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal, which was first revealed back in January of last year. There have been no updates on this project since that date and San Diego Comic-Con seems like as good a place as any for an update on that project’s status.

San Diego Comic-Con will run from July 19-23. For more, visit the Comic-Con website.
