Ethan Hawke Joins Moon Knight

Ethan Hawke will join the upcoming Disney+ show Moon Knight according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter.

According to the report, Hawke will play the undisclosed lead villain.

Hawke joins Oscar Isaac (lead Marc Spector) and actress May Calamawy. Marvel has not yet confirmed casting reports for the show.

Hawke most recently starred in Showtime’s The Good Lord Bird, where he won critical praise for his portrayal of abolitionist John Brown.

This isn’t Hawke’s first brush with Marvel. Hawke revealed in an interview in 2015 that he was in the running for the role of Doctor Strange, a role that went to Benedict Cumberbatch.

The Marvel Studios original series for Disney+ centers on the character Marc Spector aka Moon Knight, a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. These multiple identities who live inside him are distinct characters in the series and will appear against a backdrop of Egyptian iconography.
