Danai Gurira will star in her own Okoye show according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter. The Disney+ spinoff will explore Okoye’s origin story according to the report.
It’s unclear from the report whether this show is the same previously announced show set in the world of Wakanda coming from Ryan Coogler and Proximity Media’s five-year overall television deal with The Walt Disney Company.
Gurira will also return for the upcoming sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The film is currently set for a July 8, 2022 release.
