Delroy Lindo Boards Marvel’s Blade As Mystery Character

Mahershala Ali won’t be the only star in Marvel’s Blade to get another round with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While it is unclear yet when fans will get to see Blade on the big screen again, the upcoming Phase 4 project has officially added its newest cast member. The Hollywood Reporter revealed today that Delory Lindo is in final talks to join Bassam Tariq’s Marvel picture, which is being written by Stacy Osei-Kuffour.

As with most MCU castings, Lindo’s character is being kept under wrap. However, one potential character that The Harder They Fall star may perhaps be playing is Jamal Afari, who is better know to comic fans as Blade’s mentor. Ali, who played Cornell ‘Cottonmouth’ Stokes on Luke Cage, will now be joined by another Marvel TV actor in the MCU film.

During Agents of SHIELD’s run, ABC attempted to produce a spinoff show on Mockingbird and Lance Hunter, called Marvel’s Most Wanted. While the series didn’t go past pilot stages, Lindo had been tapped to play Dominic Fortune. Even though the pilot will never see the light of day, Lindo will now get a do-over and join the MCU.

Marvel’s Blade currently has no set release date.
