Man of Tomorrow has added another cast member. The Hollywood Reporter wrote that Adria Arjona will be joining the cast. It had been rumored that she was screen-testing for the role of Maxima, but James Gunn quickly debunked it last week. Maxima is a character who was previously mentioned as part of the film in January of this year. The actress portraying Maxima has either not been cast or made public at the time of writing.
Arjona’s role is currently unknown, as Variety and Deadline claim it is Maxima, while THR says it has yet to be revealed, and it is suspected that it will not be unveiled while the film is in production. Arjona has been at the top of most fan casting lists for the role of Wonder Woman. Another possibility is a character that we already know will be a part of the DCU: Big Barda.

She was born on Apokolips and is married to Scott Free (Mister Miracle). Tom King is currently working on a Mister Miracle animated series and said that the leads have been cast, but they haven’t been announced yet. So Arjona may be playing Big Barda.
With the Arjona casting, it would appear that Man of Tomorrow would have a similarly sized ensemble. Just last month, it was announced that Aaron Pierre would be in the film, as well as most of the Justice Gang introduced in Superman.
If Arjona is indeed going to be playing Wonder Woman, it would be the second time that the Amazonian was introduced in a Superman film. Gal Gadot, of course, debuted as the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The Wrap did report that Supergirl screenwriter Ana Nogueira was tapped to write the yet-to-be-announced Wonder Woman film.
A TV series set on Themyscira was initially one of the first projects announced as part of Chapter One of the DCU. It is unknown whether the Paradise Lost series is still happening or not. Regardless of who Arjona is playing in the DCU, the talented actress will be a great addition to the growing shared universe.
