More Casting News for ‘Doctor Strange’

It seems like the more we find out about casting for Doctor Strange, the less we actually know about the film. Slated for release next November, two stars were added to the cast this week in undisclosed roles.

The first, reported by The Wrap, is Amy Landecker. She is best known for her role as oldest daughter Sarah Pfefferman on Amazon’s award winning series Transparent.

Landecker has also appeared in Project Almanac and A Serious Man, which featured fellow Doctor Strange cast member Michael Stuhlbarg.

Joining Landecker is martial artist Scott Adkins. Adkins is known for his roles in action films such as The Expendables 2, The Bourne Ultimatum, and the Undisputed series. Doctor Strange will not be Adkins’ first appearance in the Marvel Universe. He previously appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine as the post transformation Weapon XI (better known as Deadpool). Check out the video below at around 5:30 from ComicBookMovie.com to see him in action.

While it is unknown who he will play in Doctor Strange, The Wrap suggests he will be involved in, “several major action scenes featuring hand-to-hand combat.”

Doctor Strange is currently in production. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton. The film is being directed by Scott Derrickson.
