Star Wars: The Force Awakens is going to be big. The film has already crashed multiple sites for ticket purchasing, sponsored marathons, and driven the holiday season with must-have Star Wars toys. Other franchises, like the X-Men, are in a hurry to attach their trailers for 2016 to the film making it both a benchmark feature and a benchmark for the year. We’ve already got confirmation that the Captain America: Civil War trailer will be debuting. This Morning Collider.com reported that it will also include the trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse.
2016 is shaping up to be an impressive year for films and superhero films in particular. The addition of a Marvel property from a different studio to one of the biggest films of the year is a very nice touch.
X-Men: Apocalypse takes place 10 years after Days of Future Past and introduces Apocalypse and his Four Horsemen in a climatic battle to decide the fate of the universe. The film stars James McAvoy as Charles Xavier and Jennifer Lawrence as Raven who lead an all-star cast that includes Magneto (Micheal Fassbender), Angel (Ben Hardy), Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Psylocke (Olivia Munn). They are joined by Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Cyclops, Jean Gray, and Nightcrawler respectively.
Star Wars opens December 18, 2015, while X-Men: apocalypse opens May 27, 2016.
