Since Season 2, Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie has become a fan favorite character on Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD. From mechanic to leader, Mack is the muscle, gruff and conscience of the SHIELD team. During WonderCon 2016, The Marvel Report got a chance to interview the actor behind the character, Henry Simmons. Check it out below:
On Mack’s evolution towards the end of Season 3 and into Season 4:
“I would like to see more conflict. I think that sometimes Coulson uses the resources of SHIELD to fulfill his personal agendas and Mack is always there to check him. I don’t know if it’s gonna towards the end of the season or the beginning of the next, wherever it may be, it would be a good opportunity because we have Captain America coming out, the Avengers are divided. I could completely see that happening within SHIELD because I know Mack would be on the side of registration because of what he’s experienced. I think Simmons would be on the side of registration; that would be something interesting to see.”
