Internet rejoice! Donald Glover will finally be cast in a Marvel film, and it’s the film we all hoped for! deadline.com has reported that Glover will be joining the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming, adding himself to the Marvel cinematic community. He joins a cast that includes Robert Downey Jr, Marisa Tomei, Micheal Keaton, Zendaya, Kenneth Choi, Micheal Barbieri, and Tony Revolori.
Donald Glover has joined the animated Marvel cast, famous for voicing Miles Morales on Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors. While his role in the MCU itself is currently unknown, he’s been a fan of Miles for awhile, and he has been a fan favorite for the cinematic incarnation of the role. Glover himself has been a fan of spider-man for years, mentioning that he wanted to play the character repeatedly, especially while voicing miles on Web Warriors. It looks as if his dream of being in a Spider-Man film has come true at last. At a time when Hollywood must make a push for diverse casting, Glover’s announcement is a dream for Marvel fans and the questions can now arise about who he’ll be playing. Will he be an incarnation of Miles? Could Miles be older in this film, taking over the mentor mantle from Peter Parker? Could he be playing a brand new character?

The star also raps under the stage name Childish Gambino. He joins his community co-star Danny Pudi in the cinematic universe. Pudi starred in Captain America: Winter Soldier as a SHIELD agent.
