Entertainment Weekly has launched a web page for a new, offsite event for SDCC 2016. Dubbed “Con-X” the event will take place outside, behind the convention center at the Embarcadero Marina Park North. The event is free to the public (no SDCC badge required) and will feature the Entertainment Weekly Spotlight Stage.
Hours are listed as 10AM-10:30PM Thursday – Saturday and 10AM-3PM on Sunday. Fans can also enjoy picnic areas, food trucks, phone-charging and hydration stations (the latter two always of huge importance to SDCC con goers). There will also be an Entertainment Weekly Paparazzi Photo Booth.
The stage will play host to live performances and episodes of classic TV shows will be shown on the big screen. There will also be panel discussions of current TV shows, movies and comics. The cast of Teen Wolf is also scheduled to appear.
But of particular note to Marvel fans is the fact that the cast of Agents of SHIELD are scheduled to appear on the Spotlight Stage on Saturday at 5pm. So fans who aren’t able to make the Friday panel in Ballroom 20 (3pm) will have a second chance to hear the cast talk about the show.
As we posted in another article, the Agents of SHIELD cast is also appearing at Camp Conival Saturday from 3:30 – 4:00.
We’re also hoping to see a new SDCC exclusive Agents of SHIELD poster for season four! This was the SDCC exclusive print for 2015.
