And here. we. go. Marvel fans! San Diego Comic-Con is in less than one week and the reveals have already started coming down the pipeline. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Director James Gunn has shown the first look at the GOTG Vol. 2 cast via new concept art from the film.
While the new concept art by designer Andy Park was supposed to be released first thing Friday morning via Entertainment Weekly, it hit early via their digital issue late Thursday night. At press time, the art had been retweeted from Gunn over 700 times with another 950 likes to count.
Take a nice long look at the beautiful concept art with Gunn’s original Facebook post below.
As you can see we have from left to right: Drax and Baby Groot, Yondu, Star-Lord, Rocket, new addition Mantis, Nebula and Gamora. Andy Park is a master of his craft and this art is no exception. Feel yourself getting excited yet? We don’t blame you, especially seeing as how the first film was an absolute joy.
We at TMR are absolutely floored by what is shown here and cannot wait to see what the footage will be like come next weekend in Hall H. Marvel’s panel will also include additions from Doctor Strange and rumored to cover Thor: Ragnarok and possibly a certain wall-crawler. At this point, we might find out who is playing Captain Marvel!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is written and directed by James Gunn. Returning cast members include Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker with Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Kurt Russell and Chris Sullivan joining the cast.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit theaters May 5, 2017.
TMR will be covering San Diego Comic-Con all next week; keep it locked here for more GOTG Vol. 2 and SDCC news!
