Bokeem Woodbine Possibly Confirmed As The Shocker For Spider-Man: Homecoming

So much Spider-Man Homecoming news, so little time.

Along with the casting of Zendaya as Mary Jane yesterday, we may have possible confirmation of another character in the film. On the Reddit thread /r/marvelstudios, user /u/BruceWillisHasNoHai has posted the call sheet for the currently in production Spider-Man reboot.

Bokeem Woodbine has been rumored to be playing Herman Schultz, aka the Shocker, but it wasn’t taken seriously until this recent development. The strange thing is that Woodbine is listed as SHULTZ/SHOCKER #2. Could there be another Shocker in the film at some point?

Shocker

Herman Schultz first fought Spider-Man in Amazing Spider-Man #46, and was recently part of Nick Spencer and Steve Lieber’s critically acclaimed Superior Foes of Spider-Man. A fan favorite if this is indeed confirmed, it will be a welcome addition to the film.

Another thing worth noting is the inclusion of Cindy. While unlikely, this could be the recently created Cindy Moon, aka Silk. Created by Dan Slot and Humberto Ramos, she has quickly become a fan favorite. The same spider that bit Peter Parker also bit Cindy that day, giving her similar fantastic powers. Ezekiel convinced her to not user her powers, and instead locked her away until Peter Parker found and rescued her at the beginning of Amazing Spider-Man Volume 3.

Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Donald Glover, Marisa Tomei and more. It is being directed by Jon Watts and is set for release next summer on July 7th, 2017.
