ABC and Marvel have brought us our first look at SHIELD’s new director. The image (via TV Line and comicbook.com) depicts O’Mara looking very much like Coulson with a smile to match.
As we know from the Season 3 finale, with the world believing that Phil Coulson is dead a new director must step up to head SHIELD. Acting as a regular agent again, Clark Gregg is teamed up with Henry Simmons, aka Mack, and out in the field. O’Mara’s presence however and his character’s motivations are unclear.
“It’s definitely a new dynamic that we’ve added to the mix.” Showrunner Maurissa Tanchareon said, “Things have been shaken up a bit.”
While know nothing about the character, O’Mara teased us about his name:
“It’s a Manly name.” he said, “It’s a very manly name.”
We ourselves have been speculating about the character’s origins but so far this image gives us no new clues.
Whoever he is, he stands poised to shake things up at SHIELD, perhaps giving Daisy Johnson a degree of competition. Take a look at the image below and tell us what you think of the new director.
