After appearing only in one episode so far this season, Agents of SHIELD has revealed the identity of SHIELD’s new director!
According to Entertainment Weekly, actor Jason O’Mara is playing Jeffrey Mace aka Patriot.
For those unfamiliar with Jeffrey, the character debuted way back in 1941 in the pages of The Human Torch #4. Jeffrey was just your average Joe working at the Daily Bugle until one day he decided to don a costume and fight crime like his favorite hero, Captain America. At one point, Jeffrey briefly replaced Captain America when he disappeared.
Obviously there are significant differences between the Agents of SHIELD version and the one from back then. In Agents of SHIELD, O’Mara plays an Inhuman with superhuman strength.
Agents of SHIELD airs on Tuesdays at 10 pm and will return October 11.
