Spider-Man Homecoming 2 Set for July 2019

It has certainly been a whirlwind 24 hours since the first official trailer for Spider-Man Homecoming dropped last night and received an immediate, positive response online.

According to our friends at Deadline, it was the success of the trailer launch that enabled Sony Pictures to move forward with announcing the release date of the sequel, currently named Spider-Man Homecoming 2. The sequel will officially land in theaters Friday, July 5, 2019 — two months after the currently Untitled Avengers sequel hits theaters on May 3th, 2019.

As for the first film, the synopsis is below:

Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker tries to balance his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens, New York City with fighting crime as his superhero alter ego Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is directed by Jon Watts. It stars Holland, along with Robert Downey Jr, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Laura Hallier, Tony Revolori, and Donald Glover. The film swings into theaters on July 7th, 2017.
