Finn Jones sat down with Extra Live for a Q&A revealing some Iron Fist news and more! The Extra reporter stated that Finn broke Facebook live, before they divided into fan questions. The Defenders seem to have a habit of breaking things (*wink*).
The Q&A was mainly fan questions that had been collected for the live video, but there were a couple of questions that the reporter threw in that were his own. These were some of our favorite moments from the Q&A.
When Finn was asked what would Danny Rand’s iPod playlist be like, Finn responded with:
“So, I actually did this. So before, I started the role, I made playlist on my iPod of songs that Danny Rand would listen to it; it’s a lot of 90s Hip-Hop: De La Soul, Jurassic 5, Tribe Called Quest…like that kind of music is what Danny’s jammin’ to. Actually we feature that in the series. And actually, one of the episodes is directed by the RZA himself. Episode 6”
Another director has been announced, thanks to Finn! For those who don’t know RZA is a rapper turned actor and filmmaker. He directed the film, The Man With The Iron Fists as well as starring in the film.
The Extra reported went on to ask Finn how was it like working with RZA, and Finn answered:
” He’s super chill! He has a really good vision of what he wants. And he really understands the martial arts genre.”
A fan had asked Finn if he got to wear the costume and if he liked the costume, and of course like all Marvel actors, Finn is sworn under secrecy. Finn only offered, “Who knows?! Who said there even was a costume?”
My favorite question that Finn was asked was what is his favorite Iron Fist run that he’s read in preparation for the role, and he replied:
“The Immortal Iron Fist is my favorite of the bunch. I haven’t read them all, cause there’s a lot of them. I’ve skimmed through a lot of them to get an idea of the tone of the character, and the world it’s from. But essentially what we’re doing is an adaption show, so we can’t get bulked down on what’s out there.”
The Immortal Iron Fist is one of the best Iron Fist books out there, and I’d definitely recommend picking up that run before Iron Fist hits Netflix. The book is by Ed Brubaker, Matt Fraction, and David Aja.
