Aquaman Film Casting In Talks To Fill Two Roles

Big Aquaman news came out of Hollywood yesterday and we’ve learned from the Hollywood Reporter that Nicole Kidman is in talks to play Arthur Curry’s (Aquaman’s) mother and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is in discussions to play arch nemesis Black Manta.

If Kidman agrees to the role, which was formally offered Monday (Jan 30th) it will be her second role in a DC film as she co-starred in Batman Forever in 1995 as Dr. Chase Meridian.  Meanwhile Abdul-Mateen has also receive his official offer and has engaged in talks to take part in the film.

Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa, is DC’s next big project and is set to begin shooting in Australia starting in April and it filling out it’s cast at the production date nears. The film is set to be come out in 2018.

Black Manta first appeared in September of 1967 in Aquaman #35,  he was created by Bob Haney and Nick Cardy.
