SDCC 2026: Marvel Studios Returns To Hall H With Hot Heroics

This year’s Marvel Studios Hall-H came with the usual excitement, laughter, screams, and fire (more on that later), and it was worth it to be in the audience to witness everything firsthand.

If you ever get the chance to go to SDCC and have the money (and time) to do so, I highly recommend that you try to make it into Hall-H to see a Marvel Studios presentation. From Tom Hiddleston appearing in full costume on stage as Loki to Deadpool & Wolverine’s cast reveal to the studio teasing its Fantastic Four reveals with a Galactus made of drones, the fireworks have never disappointed over the years.

First up, Kevin Feige revealed the trailer for Avengers: Endgame Encore, which will be re-released this September with crucial footage to link the film to Avengers: Doomsday.

The long-rumored Ghost Rider movie is actually in the works, and fan favorite Ryan Gosling is our lead!

I LOVE the way they revealed it by leveraging Happy, Sad, Confused’s Josh Horowitz to play along, given his past interview with Kevin Feige and his ongoing persistence in asking Ryan if it would ever happen. This writer longs to find out which iteration he is playing (Johnny Blaze, Danny Ketch?!) because we know Marvel likes to change things up to separate itself from past films they weren’t part of. I am excited to see if confirmed director Shawn Levy can push his boundaries to deliver a scary and thrilling tale. The film is slated for 2028.

We were then treated to The Punisher himself, Jon Bernthal, coming on stage to ask Feige about his film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and we got a clip of Punisher and Spidey teaming up to take on Savage Hulk. The screams in the audience were loud and full of excitement as the clip played. If this clip is any sign of promise, the film will be one for the record books.

Then, it was time for the granddaddy of the night to finally come up for its moment on stage. To go along with its part of the presentation, attendees were given an Avengers: Doomsday Doctor Doom costume.

The whole cast of the film appeared with Robert Downey Jr., Haley Atwell, Chris Evans, and the directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, appearing at the front of the stage, and in a Hall-H first, the rest of the cast appeared in the back of the hall, on TWO separate stages.

A grey-suited Deadpool showed up in the audience, portrayed by Ryan Reynolds himself in costume, and peppered the cast with questions. Among the questions was why Thor was crying on one of the TVA screens in Deadpool and Wolverine. The audience laughed and snickered as Reynolds carried out his tirade of questions and jokes.

We were treated to another trailer (so shortly, I might add, after the first!) which showed Sue Storm narrating part of Doctor Doom’s backstory in a similar way to how Gamora did one of the Infinity War trailers. Along with Doom being thrown out of a building and landing in a supremely epic way, the trailer ends with Doom activating a series of Sentinels with one hand and proclaiming “Hell answers to me, for I am Doom.” I got shivers down my spine at this line and Downey’s accent.

Lastly, we got our long-awaited update about Black Panther 3. Ryan Coogler appeared on stage with Feige to announce he will direct the third film and revealed the release date for the film, which will be December 15, 2028. Letitia Wright and Winston Duke appeared on stage with Coogler and Feige to drop the biggest news of the night, which will be sure to please many fans. Rye Lane & Alien: Romulus actor David Jonsson will play T’Challa II / Black Panther in the film! (Excuse the typo in the tweet below).

This is a welcome choice and surprise after his amazing performance in The Long Walk and rumors of Damson Idris being the one to play T’Challa II. I like this casting a lot and cannot wait to see Jonsson’s take on Panther.

That’s all for this recap, folks! Stay tuned to Multiverse of Color for more Marvel news.
