Will Kingpin Appear in The Punisher Series?
Greetings True Believers! With Netflix’s Iron Fist on the horizon, fans are starting to speculating about the show’s connection to the larger Defenders universe. The same goes for The Punisher series, which will also debut this year. While certain characters are bound to crossover from one show to another — like Claire Temple, Madame Gow, and Turk Barrett — a lot of fans are wondering about the future presence of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin.
We know that Kingpin had a very memorable exchange with Frank Castle/The Punisher earlier last year during Daredevil Season 2 — does that mean he’ll show up in Castle’s spinoff? D’Onofrio had this to say:
Nope not a chance. No plans. Zero https://t.co/MC5oqdKekk

This response is very intriguing. In the past, any time Mr. D’Onofrio was asked any questions regarding his MCU character, his typical response has been “No Comment”. This has got me wondering — in this tweet, is he really being sincere or is he being sarcastic? I think that before we answer that, we should consider whether or not Kingpin should actually be in The Punisher.
Karen, Kingpin, & The Punisher
In the Netflix/Defender universe, Punisher and Kingpin have history together. If we go back to Daredevil Season 2, Kingpin helped Frank escape prison. However, Frank bravely said no to Kingpin and even held his own in a fight against him. They did not part on good terms. Also, there is one other thing to consider when thinking if Kingpin should be in The Punisher. Last year, it was confirmed that Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page would be a key character in The Punisher. Karen and Kingpin have a very long history together. The whole reason she went to Nelson and Murdock in Daredevil Season 1 was because she was hiding from Kingpin. Not to mention, Karen killed Kingpin’s right-hand man and best friend, Wesley — something Kingpin has yet to realize.
So, should Kingpin be in The Punisher? Personally, I think he should, and I myself do believe that Mr. D’Onofrio was being sarcastic in his tweet. However, I believe that Kingpappearancerence should be brief. I believe Kingpin should be in The Punisher about as long as he was in Daredevil Season 2. He should have guest-starring apperence in an antagonistic role, but not be the main focus of the series. Although, that is just my personal opinion. What do you guys think? Will Kingpin be in The Punisher? Do you think he should? Do you think Mr. D’Onofrio was being truthful or sincere? Let us know in the comments below.
