If you’re like me you’re absolutely in love with all of the promotional material from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. It’s putting unbelievable amounts of color into a world that hasn’t had quite a lot of it recently(the color pallets from civil war have been very muted). It’s a technicolor explosion of candy coated joy and we couldn’t be happier – or more excited for the movie. Case in point, this morning director James Gunn took to facebook and twitter to release a brand new IMAX poster that says don’t be blue – you’ll still shine from the inside out.

I think my favorite part is Groot on the bottom holding up Peter Quill’s walkman. They’re using Groot, the most popular character a lot more often and it’s been amazing to see just how they incorporate the creature into the film’s key scenes, trailers, and promotional spots. Are there places he can’t go? Baby Groot is rapidly becoming as iconic a character as spider-man for me and I couldn’t be happier with the selection of a more kid friendly creature, especially by Disney and especially in such a serious story.
In addition to this brand new IMAX poster, we’ve also got a brand new cover from Empire magazine to stare in wonder at. If the colors in this are anywhere near the colors used in the issues and posters I can’t wait to be amazed when I score my IMAX 3D ticket. Marvel is really delivering on some incredible impressive visuals in these posters and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store. Empire’s special issue is available March 23rd.
