Thor Ragnarok is featured on the cover of a new magazine from Entertainment Weekly. On the cover is Cate Blanchett as Hela, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie.
Obviously fans will notice right away that Hemsworth is sporting a very different hairdo and that he is carrying two swords. No Mjilnor? What does this mean for the God of Thunder?
Hemsworth talks about the new look in the EW article:
It was nice not to have to sit in the makeup chair for that hour each morning,…It felt like a rebirth for me as the actor but also as the character.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige also talked about what it means to earn a threequel:
I have a belief that if you’re lucky enough to get to part 3 of a franchise, it is your obligation not to fall to threequel-itis.
Based on the cast alone, it’s clear that Marvel is striving to make Thor: Ragnarok the best in the series. The movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Jaimie Alexander, Anthony Hopkins, Carl Urban, Mark Ruffalo, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Tessa Thompson. Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok will be in theaters on November 3, 2017.
