Your Marvel Guide to Phoenix Comic Con.  Marvel fans will find plenty to do and see at Phoenix Comic Con, May 25-28 2017 at the Phoenix Convention Center.  This will be our fourth year driving over from San Diego.  Why make the long drive into the desert heat?  Because PHXCC is one of the best comic conventions in the southwest.  Last year I made an appearance as Hydra Captain America, just two weeks after Nick Spencer ruined Steve Rogers for countless fans.  How did that go?   It went great, check out my report!

Hydra Cap meets Phoenix Comic Con.

In 2017, Phoenix Comic Con turns up the heat with a whole slew of Marvel guests, panels, autographs and photo ops.  Here is a breakdown of who is coming, where you’ll find them and how much it costs for a photo op or an autograph:

Gabriel Luna (Agents of SHIELD / Ghost Rider) – Gabriel Luna is at PHXCC on Friday and Saturday.  Photo ops are $55 and autographs $45.

Ming-Na Wen (Agents of SHIELD / Melinda May) – Ming-Na Wen is at PHXCC on Saturday only.  Photo ops are $65 and autographs are $55.

Agents of SHIELD dual photo op with both is on Saturday, and costs $100.

Agents of SHIELD panel with Ming-Na Wen and Gabriel Luna is Saturday at 4:30pm in room West 301BCD.

Jon Bernthal (Daredevil / Frank Castle) – Jon Bernthal is at PHXCC Saturday and Sunday.  Photo ops are $70 and autographs are $50.

Charlie Cox (Daredevil / Matt Murdock) – Charlie Cos is at PHXCC on Sunday only.  Photo ops are $75 and autographs are $60.

Elden Henson (Daredevil / Foggy Nelson)  Elden Henson is at PHXCC on Saturday and Sunday.  Photo ops are $50 and autographs are $30.

Daredevil dual photo op with Jon Bernthal and Eleden Henson is Saturday and costs $100.

Daredevil trio photo op with Charlie Cox, Jon Bernthal and Elden Henson is Sunday and costs $180.

Daredevil panel with Charlie Cox, Jon Bernthal and Elden Henson is Sunday at 3:00pm in room West 301BCD.

Neal McDonough (Captain America / Dum Dum Dugan) is at PHXCC on Saturday and Sunday.  Photo ops are $50 and autographs are $40.

Thursday

Marvel vs. DC Animation Showdown – 3:00pm room North 127B
Marvel and DC have been creating cartoons for decades. Whether you’re a fan of the SuperFriends or Spider-Man and His Amazing friends this fan favorite debate is sure to entertain.

Friday

Marvel vs. DC Comic Book Showdown – 1:30pm room North 122ABC
The battle continues with the Big Two comic book publishers reinventing and relaunching titles. Who is getting it right and who needs to keep working on it? This fan favorite panel focuses on the comic books and graphic novels.

Marvel Jeopardy – 3:00pm room North 221ABC
How big of a Marvel fan are you? Put your knowledge to the test in Marvel Jeopardy Genius Edition hosted by the Arizona Avengers! Go up against other Marvel fanatics, and see who truly dominates when it comes to Marvel trivia. Winners will not only receive bragging rights, but a chance to win some awesome prizes.

Saturday

Marvel vs. DC TV Showdown – 10:30am room North 122ABC
Marvel and DC characters are dominating the TV landscape. Which shows are best? Which characters do you want to see next?

So You Think You Can Dance?  Marvel Edition – 1:30 and 3:00 room West 105ABC
The Arizona Avengers take on So You Think You Can Dance and give it a Marvel twist. Get your dancing shoes ready in this first of two sessions and learn some of the funkiest dance moves from your favorite superheroes like Wolverine and Star Lord. Whether you’re a more experienced dancer, or a beginner there’s plenty of fun to be had for the whole family.

Dobutsu Lounge:  Marvel vs. Capcom (18+) – 9:00pm Hyatt Regency Ballroom CD
The fate of two worlds lies in the hands of Dobutsu lounge at the Marvel V.S. Capcom themed lounge! Test your might with the cast of Marvel V.S capcom and find out which side is best. We’ll hold raffles for exclusive items throughout the night.

Sunday

Marvel vs. DC Movie Showdown – 12:00pm room North 122ABC
This fan favorite panel pits the Marvel Movies vs The DC Movies. We compare and contrast from Nolan’s Batman to Singer’s X-Men and ponder whether the DCEU ready to take on the MCU? Can someone make a great Fantastic 4 or Green Lantern movie? We’ll hash it out and crown our winner!

Marvel Netflix:  Meet The Defenders – 3:00pm room North 127C
Marvel and Netflix bring Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist together this fall for the Defenders. Discuss the future of Marvel on Netflix including what’s working so far, how well the shows reflect the source material and what we want to see in the future.
