WhedonCon 2017 Pays Tribute To Marvel

No one has had a bigger impact on the world of the MCU then Joss Whedon.  As one of the original architects of the “phase” structure, Joss has shaped the world we all know.  His family has followed in his footsteps with Agents of SHIELD and the loyal community of Whedonites have planned Marvelous activities for WhedonCon 2017, the annual gathering of Whedon fans in Los Angeles.  Fandom Charities INC is proud to add major figures and a ‘Marvel Day’ to the second annual WhedonCon  taking place this weekend from the 19th to the 21rst at the Warner Marriott in Woodland Hills California.

Noted among the guests is Christos Gage, former writer of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel and Faith comics for Dark Horse.  Mr. Gage also wrote Daredevil episode “Speak of the Devil” .  Agents of SHIELD’s master of VFX Mark Kolpack joins a Saturday VFX panel along with multiple SHIELD alums to talk digital versus practical FX.  He’s joined by RJ MacCasland, make up artist on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.  Actor Damon Poitier whose work includes Joss Whedon’s The Avengers as well as Thor: The Dark World will be on hand as well to meet and greet fans.

Any fan of the MCU most likely has a strong love of Joss’s body of work and there will be plenty for Whedon fans to do at the convention.  The second annual WhedonCon marks the 20th anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer as well as the 15th anniversary of Firefly.  The convention has an awesome list of panels for fans .  You can learn how to apply steampunk to your costume with the San Diego Steampunk Society, learn how to write sketch comedy, and much much more.

With opportunities for fan interaction, celebrity meet and greets, and dozens of panels for whedon fans and Agents of SHIELD fans alike, WhedonCon 2017 looks like quite an exciting time! The Marvel Report will be there to share in the excitement with fans and friends alike.  If you’re a fan of Joss Whedon and a fan of Marvel join us at WhedonCon 2017 for all things Marvel this weekend.  In memory of Ron Glass, the convention will be raising funds for the Al Wooten Heritage Center, a youth center that was dear to his heart.

Come out, meet some exciting Marvel creators and raise money for a great cause. What could be better?
