Keith David Joins Marvel’s New Warriors Series

The New Warriors are getting bigger.

Not literally of course, but the cast is certainly growing.  In addition to the new superheroes joining the MCU, Marvel has announced star Keith David will be joining Freeform’s 2018 series.  David will play Ernest Vigman, a municipal employee butting heads with the superheroes as they go about their adventures.  A municipal employee and a bunch of fledgling superheroes has a very Misfits vibe, which is very exciting.  Will Vigman become the “guy in the chair” to the heroes or are his motives more sinister? Will he be the J.Jonah Jameson and strive to catch them or be converted into a more Ben Ulrich type figure? Only time will tell!

David’s resume includes over 150 stage and screen credits.  The star’s pop culture credits include The Flash,  Adventure Time, Rick and Morty, and Halo 5.  He’s also got some major movie credits with Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Cloud Atlas, CRASH, and of course – a major role on Community. David currently has a major role in Future Man starring Josh Hutcherson as well as the lead role in Oprah Winfrey’s Greenleaf as Bishop James Greenleaf.   You can catch him on OWN in August where he’ll be debuting in the highly anticipated second season of the show-and on New Warriors of course.

Are you intrigued by this development? Do you think New Warriors will have a Misfits sort of vibe? Are you excited to see Keith David join the MCU? Do you hope he’ll get powers and abilities as well or have any theories you want to share? Sound off  in the comments below!

“Not Quite Super, Not Yet Heroes” Marvel’s New Warriors features 6 young people learning to cope with their abilities in a world where bad guys can be almost as bad as bad dates. The series is set to premiere in 2018 on Freeform.
