A handful of new characters were revealed for Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite this morning during a Friday morning San Diego Comic-Con panel. The Marvel side is getting Spider-Man, as well as Gamora from “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
The Capcom side is getting a trio of returning fighters from Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Final Fight’s Haggar, Dead Rising’s Frank West, and Resident Evil’s Nemesis T-Type.
Spidey is a veteran, having appeared in each of these Marvel crossover fighters dating back to Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter. Gamora, however, is an all-new addition to the roster, currently enjoying her influx of popularity since the Guardians became theatrical smash hits.
Spider-Man is seen partnering up with Frank West (sharing their affinity for photography, no doubt), where he delivers an updated version of his classic move-set. However, the wall-crawler also has a new Level 3 Hyper Combo, where the Green Goblin attacks with a barrage of pumpkin bombs before Spidey webs them all up and chucks them at his opponent.
Meanwhile, Gamora teams up with her father, Thanos, to deliver pain using her arsenal of daggers, blasters, and her massive sword. She also utilizes the Mind Stone, the first instance of this Infinity Stone being used, to juggle her opponent and extend her combo. Those looking for more footage of the most dangerous woman in the galaxy can also check out a special exhibition aired during Sunday’s Evolution 2017 finals day, which featured Gamora, as well as Darkstalkers’ Jedah.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is set to release on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on September 19.
