And back to the panel:
Before the eponymous Defenders were even brought to the stage, Jon Bernthal came out and fans saw some footage from the upcoming The Punisher. It’s evident from the footage The Punisher will be a dark and gritty affair.
We also learned during the panel that Iron Fist has officially been renewed for a second season. An appearance by Misty Knight was also teased.
UPDATE: EW reports that showrunner Scott Buck (Dexter) is stepping down from Iron Fist (though will continue showrunning Marvel’s upcoming The Inhumans). Raven Metzner (Sleepy Hollow, Falling Skies) will be taking over the role.
Additional cast members joining the panel included Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Finn Jones, Sigourney Weaver, Jessica Henwick, Deborah Ann Woll, and Elodie Young. All except Sigourney Weaver, who plays a new villain named Alexandra, reprise their roles from previous Marvel Netflix shows.
In the discussion with The Defenders cast, some new plot points were confirmed, including the appearance of Colleen Wing and the return of Elektra.

One thing the cast reiterated was this is not a normal superhero team up and the characters will have to learn to work together.
