Legion had a big presence at comic con in the form of offsites and an amazing panel and Q&A. The star of FX’s breakout hit however didn’t reveal much about Legion season 2 however outside of the casting of Amahl Farouk as the infamous Shadow King. Apart from the question of if Professor X would ever make a cameo (let’s put that out into the universe and hope that that’s the case). Stevens hinted to comicbook.com that the true extent of David’s abilities is only beginning to be discovered and that there’s a lot more to “Dig out of David’s head.” for season 2.
“I think so, we haven’t even really scratched the surface of the number of characters or entities that are contained within Legion. The Shadow King was obviously one of them, and a large part, but there’s a lot more going on.”
He went on to add that “Anyone who knows the comics knows the scope of the world in which its set, so there’s a lot more to dig out of his head.” You might recall that David can create personalities and abilities at will. Could this mean that we’ll see some of David’s “created” personalities in the show or some throwbacks to previously recreated personalities? Will we see the pirate that belches noxious gas? Johnny Gammorah would also make a really cool addition to the future of Legion.
What do you think of this potential? What powers would you like to see David develop as we reach into season 2? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
Legion is the story of a troubled young man who may be more than human. It introduces the story of David Haller, who since he was a teenager, has struggled with mental illness. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he’s confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees might be real.
Legion season 2 is expected February 2018.
