Inhumans

Inhumans SDCC 2017 Round Table: Mike Moh And Sonya Balmores

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con we got the chance to sit down and interview the cast and crew behind Inhumans. This is our interview with Mike Moh (Triton) and Sonya Balmores (Auran) talking about the upcoming project from Marvel Television and IMAX.

When asked to describe the show Moh says, “It’s a family drama, but it’s got some light moments as well, it’s got comedy, some really badass action.” He also mentioned that people have been calling it “Marvel’s Game of Thrones.”

Balmores spoke about the transition from Inhumans starting out as a film to becoming a TV show and how it differs to their approach. Balmores stated, “When you book a movie you know exactly where you’re going, but in a TV show we know that we weren’t given the scripts” for later episodes. She discussed the difficulty in not knowing what would happen to her character. Moh said he is happy Inhumans is a TV show since it will allow more depth into the relationships, not just those with the main characters.

They both were asked about potential cross overs with Agents of SHIELD or any other Marvel shows and as much as they’d both love to they did say not at this moment.

Moh was asked about the fight scenes and how he prepared for them. He said, “It takes two to tango.” Moh spoke of the need to on be on the same page as your partner in a fight scene, no matter how good you are at stunts. He equates fight scenes to dialogue in terms of importance. Balmores did mention that she was accidentally actually punching and kicking people in fight scenes.

Premiering first in IMAX on September 1 and then on ABC on September 29, Inhumans stars Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Iwan Rheon as Maximus, Serinda Swan as Medusa, Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, Ken Leung as Karnak, Ellen Woglom as Louise, Sonya Balmores as Auran, and Mike Moh as Triton.
