New Clip From The Defenders Hints At A Surprising Connection

We’re a week out from Netflix’s The Defenders and we’ve got a slew of new clips including this one that came via the Daredevil Twitter account this morning.  The Man Without Fear is a pretty big deal – he was the first Defender we were introduced to after all, and apparently, he has quite a few skeletons in his closet.  Or at least, his associates do.  In the clip below Sigourney Weaver’s Alexandra has a chat with a very familiar figure who has been with us since the beginning of the Marvel Netflix Universe.  Take a look at the clip below and tell us if you’re as surprised as we are.

It’s not the only clip that has been recently released.  We knew that Stick (Scott Glenn) had a connection to the Hand – but the fact that he knows Alexandra really puts Daredevil’s former teacher in a new light.  What secrets has Stick really been hiding and can he be convinced to share them in time to save people like Elektra (Elodie Yung)? Will Stick end up joining the dark side despite his encouragement of The Defenders?

A second tie-in clip recently hit the web from the Luke Cage Twitter account as well, further tying in the “first defender” to the rest of the Netflix mythos. Check out the clip below.

Franklin “Foggy” Nelson (Elden Henson) is a former member of “Nelson and Murdock.” Fans will remember at the end of Daredevil season 2 he and Matt dissolved their budding law firm. Foggy then started working for Jeri Hogarth (Carrie Anne Moss).  Hogarth’s connections include Danny Rand and Jessica Jones, putting Foggy right at the center of the action.  Now that Luke Cage is in that triangle the circle is tightening and The Defenders are inching closer together. These clips leave a lot to be desired- where is Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter)? What about Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor)? We have so many questions and it really looks like we’ll have to wait until August 18th to find answers!
