Audiences that didn’t make their way to IMAX theaters this month will finally get their chance to check out Marvel & ABC’s Inhumans later tonight. While there were speculative articles that the series had already been cancelled before airing, which doesn’t make an ounce of sense, the network quickly shot those down. Could we see more Inhumans though after these eight episodes? Speaking with Collider, series showrunner Scott Buck commented on a potential second season stating that he would love to see the series continue and revealed that he’s already got some ideas regarding it.
“We have ideas. We know our starting point for Season 2, but we don’t know if there will be a Season 2. Hopefully, there will be a Season 2. If so, we know where we’re gonna start, and we’ll very gratefully gear up and get to work.”
And he doesn’t only have ideas for a second season as later in the interview, Buck went on to reveal that the team behind the series has envisioned a long-term plan for Inhumans stretching beyond two seasons. \
“We generally know where the first three seasons could go. What’s fun about the show is that it will basically always be a show about family, so there’s always going to be places to take these characters.”
While the buzz regarding the series hasn’t been strong so far, general audiences will finally get their chance to check out the series this weekend. It’ll really come down to the ratings to see if ABC decides to move forward with more season of the series. Well, unless Disney decides to step in like they did with Agents Of SHIELD and move forward with more Inhumans. As someone that enjoyed the first two episodes, I’m hoping the later episodes are strong and audiences connect because I would love to spend more time with these characters in the future. Inhumans debuts on ABC tonight at 8/7c.
