The Gifted: Full Season Preview

Episode First Impressions

I have to say I’m very impressed. This show really hit the ground running with the pilot. It did an excellent job of establishing the world and the characters while making viewers care almost instantly. For any hardcore X-Men fans the vibe is very strong. The first episode screams X-Men in terms of tone and overall atmosphere. If you’re an X fan chances are you will really enjoy The Gifted. Stay tuned to the Marvel Report for a full recap of this week’s episode. Now let’s get down to what you probably clicked this article for. Preview Breakdown Thoughts and Predictions

I don’t know about you guys but that preview has me so excited for this season. The pilot ends with the Strucker family on the run from the government with the mutant underground. Unfortunately Reed Strucker is captured and from the clips in the preview it looks like he will be teaming but with Lorna Dane aka Polaris so that they can get out and get back to their families. The preview does a nice job of giving off a very fugitive like vibe. We also get some interesting information. It seems like the government has mutants under their control for the sole purpose of hunting down mutants. How is the government able to do this? Is it similar to the iconic Days Of Future Past? It looks like Reed and Lorna will try and use his old connections to try and find out. This preview evokes the classic X-Men themes of oppression, survival, fear, and family. Buckle your seat belt bub, because judging by this preview we are in for quite the ride this season.

Next Week on Episode 2 “rX”

After exerting her powers beyond their limits, Blink (Jamie Chung) goes into a state of shock, forcing Caitlin (Amy Acker) and Eclipse (Sean Teale) to go on a mission to find a special serum that will help her to recover. Meanwhile, Reed (Stephen Moyer) faces some difficult choices when it comes to helping his family, and Polaris (Emma Dumont) runs into some trouble in the all-new “rX” episode of THE GIFTED airing Monday, October 9th on FOX.

That’s it for me this week true believers. Join me next week for my breakdown of the preview for episode 3.

The Gifted airs Mondays on FOX at 9/8C.
