There is no shortage of fan events and conventions out there these days. As soon as one wraps up, it seems we’ve already got our eyes on what’s coming up next from Wondercon to San Diego Comic-Con to New York Comic-Con and so on. Even Disney has two events of their own currently with Star Wars Celebration and D23. Could we see also see a Marvel-centric fan event in the future as well? Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige believes that they could actually hold one and commented on the subject while speaking with Fandango.
“Over the years there have been discussions about that. I think what we try to do occasionally in San Diego we’re very proud of and think is a fun tradition. That being said, I think [Star Wars] Celebration is pretty amazing. I’ve been to a few Celebrations and the idea of doing something like that … I think we have enough content, and enough fans, and enough ideas that we could easily do something like that, I’m just not sure where or when.”
While we’re not going to hold our breath that will happen, this is an exciting idea that we are totally into. Considering they throw Star Wars Celebration with one film hitting theaters a year and Marvel Studios now releasing three films per year, this definitely seems like something that they could pull off. And who knows? While we might not see ever them together on the big screen, maybe this event could be what finally brings the casts of both the films and TV properties together for the fans. Would you attend a Marvel-only convention? Let us kniow your thoughts in the comments section below.
