Netflix has finally released new images from the second season of Jessica Jones. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen our favorite hard drinking, smart mouthed, super strong Defender Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) in her own show. She played nice with the boys in The Defenders, but now it’s time to see Jessica take back her life and continue her road to recovery after defeating Killgrave (David Tennant) in season 1.
Season 2 of Jessica Jones will explore not just Jessica’s future, but her past as well. Now that she’s known as a superhero, she wants to know about the cause of her powers. Always by her side is her bff Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor), her neighbor turned friend Malcolm (Eka Darville), and probably the only woman who is as tough as Jess, Jeri Hogarth (Carrie Anne Moss). The show will also introduce new faces including J.R. Ramirez as Jessica’s neighbor Oscar, Janet McTeer in an undisclosed role, and Leah Gibson as a woman named Ingrid.
The new images show Jessica getting into her usual trouble, with a scene that looks like it takes place in prison. Hopefully she’s using her one phone call to contact Hogarth. Or Matt Murdock. Or Foggy. (Man it must be nice to have so many lawyer friends.)
There are also picture of Jessica snooping around. Maybe she’s collecting clues for her next case?
Then there’s one with her classic, “You have got to be kidding me” looks. How I’ve missed that look.
Trish is looking pretty tough (and maybe a little afraid) in her image. We’ve seen that Trish can handle herself, so will season 2 be the one where we see her become a hero in her own right? (While I don’t expect to see her suit up as Hellcat one can only hope!)
It’s always good to see Malcolm. He looks so good and has grown so much from the character we first met in season 1. It looks like he will continue to stand by Jessica’s side and maybe spend some time working with Trish as well.
Hogarth looks a little worried in this picture. It’s probably Jessica’s fault.
However, the pictures that I was most excited to see were the behind the scenes images. They show what appears to be two of the female directors from this season! All 13 episodes of Jessica Jones season 2 will be directed by women which is pretty awesome.
Jessica Jones season 2 will be available to stream on Netflix on March 8th. Season 1 is available to stream now.
