Marvel Television and Netflix announced today actor Jay Ali has joined Daredevil for Season 3.
Ali, best known for his work on Freeform show The Fosters, will play Rahul “Ray” Nadeem. In a press release, Nadeem is described as “an honest, but ambitious FBI agent willing to go to any length for his family.”
“It isn’t easy to join a cast as talented as ‘Marvel’s Daredevil’ – and Jay blew us all out of the water with his audition,” said Executive Producer and Showrunner, Erik Oleson in a release. “His moving performance in Season 3 will show the world that he’s a star in the making.”
So far, Marvel has kept details about the third season relatively quiet. We last saw lead character Matt Murdock being cared for in a convent after narrowly escaping death in The Defenders.
An official release date has not been set for the third season of Daredevil, but with the second season of Luke Cage premiering on June 22, it seems likely the show could get a premiere in fall 2018. The show is currently filming in New York City.
Also returning for the third season include cast members Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), and Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk).
Daredevil Season 3 will premiere on Netflix in 2018.
